Description
The report lists the FIG meetings that took place from fall 2010 to fall 2012. Topics discussed include federated vs. aggregated search, eXtensible Catalog, legal issues with e-books and e-readers, mobile access to library resources, and digital asset management.
2011-4 Reference and Instruction Workday Mobile Devices PALS Products
Description
The presentation discussed the various PALS services available on mobile devices and ways that other libraries are successfully using mobile interfaces and apps. New functionalities were also introduced, such as PALSconnect Linker, ERM, and PALSevergreen.
2012-10 Reference and Instruction User Group Meeting Minutes and Agenda
Description
Topics discussed include the mobile version of MnPALS Plus, LibData and LibStats, and elections: Pam Sukalski (Southwest Minnesota State University for State Universities; Jim Parsons (St. Ben’s/St. John’s) for Private Colleges and Universities; Lisa Forslund (North Hennepin Community College) for a 1-year term, and Jennie Simning (Hennepin Technical College-Brooklyn Park) for a 2-year term for the MnSCU Two-year Colleges.
Agenda items include sessions on the Reports Group's recent activities, Islandora, useful apps for productivity and database access, electronic resources in libraries, RDA, social media, and Aleph Inventory at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The 2012 PALS Report includes all Aleph Subsystem Reports, news relating to PALS products and services, and recent activities of the various Task Forces and Office Teams. Highlights include updates to many reports and tables, the MnPALS Plus mobile website, and a new web interface for patron booking.
