2013-10 User Group Meeting Futures Interest Group Report
Description
The report lists the Libraries Futures Interest Group's meetings and conference calls from fall 2012 to fall 2013. Topics of discussion included e-readers and e-books, linked data, social media, mobile apps, and planning future meetings.
The document lists improvements to existing reports and new reports created by the Reports Work Group from fall 2012 to fall 2013. New reports include an ILL Lending report, a cash transactions report, and a report containing information about unfilled journal requests.
Agenda items include sessions on digital asset management (Islandora), e-copy and e-delivery, training effective student workers, EZproxy and D2L, batch deleting discontinued titles, and managing streaming video.
The presentation covers the creation of e-copy requests, e-copy potential supplier lists, and what happens when a lending library ships a request as an e-copy or c-copy. Options for e-delivery were also discussed.
The presentation discusses Islandora and its many functions, as well as how it is used by PALS. It was accompanied by demos that showed attendees how to ingest, edit, and then search various objects with Islandora.
The 2014 PALS Report includes all Aleph Subsystem Reports, news relating to PALS products and services, and recent activities of the various Task Forces and Office Teams. Highlights include updates to the PALS Support Center, new lending and replacement lending slips, Islandora growth, and Leech Lake Tribal College joining the Consortium.

2008-10 User Group Meeting ILL/CIRC Overdues Tables Breakout Session

This breakout session will focus on the setup in tab18 and tab32 so your library can send circulation overdue notices to your patrons who have a loan for an ILL request. Also how to send notices to a borrowing library will be talked about. Presenters/Moderators were Susan Dueis and Sonja Eilertson.
2008-10 User Group Meeting Inventory Management Breakout Session
Description
Summary: ADMs differ on how they want to conduct their inventory; i.e. online manual or batch. This session will touch on three areas: 1) central server site issues ranging from providing the file from the alephe/scratch or data/scratch directories to configuring the Shelf Report Number (SRN), 2) an ADM library's experiences with the online manual inventory using a wireless laptop, and 3) an ADM library's experiences using the batch inventory in conjunction with an RFID reader. We will try to leave time for a question and answer session. These are documentation on inventory processes from Minnesota State University-Mankato.
